Try a bleach pen , then you can put bleach ONLY where you need it , but still have to wash it with things that you wouldn't mind being bleached , or can wash it out in the bathtub , by itself . If it is not white , use whatever LIQUID laundry detergent you like , pour directly onto stain enough to cover , rub in with an old tooth brush or a Tide Spin Brush ( works great ) , then wash in COLD water . Always wash in cold water to prevent stains from setting in and to keep dark or bright colors from fading . If stain still remains , DO NOT put in dryer , it will be SET FOREVER ! Just hang it on the clothes line on over shower rod , until dry , spread out as much as you can for even drying. You can still use the item , cause you know it is clean , but will have a chance to try and get it out again the next time you wash it if it hasn't been in the dryer ! Good luck !
