I agree with you about keeping it in his pants. I have been married 21 years and have never cheated. Most people (both men and women) cheat because there is something missing in the relationship and they look for it elsewhere. It might be attention, common interest, sex ,or companionship that is missing.

There are states where it doesn't matter the grounds for divorce, you still only end up with half of the marital assets and half of the marital debt.

And where alimony is not a given, and is usually only a limited duration.

Besides, if the only reason your spouse doesn't cheat on you is because they could lose everything, then I'd rather just get divorced and move on to a chance at a happier life.

You answered your own question.

If women are unhappy with some aspects of their marriage, they can get a divorce and keep the house and kids and get financial support.

If a man is unhappy with his sex life and gets a divorce, he loses his home, his children and is probably thrown into a dire financial situation. Most recently divorced men I know are living at home again or in a basement apartment while they send their paycheck to their ex-wife who is living in their former house.

Divorce courts heavily favour women in north america, so women file for divorce far more often. There are some countries where men generally get custody, and in those countries, men file for divorce more often.

If men believed they could keep their home and kids and not pay alimony, there'd be a lot more men getting divorces rather then cheating.

If that's what you're holding over your husband's head, you won't have him long. When a man gets tired of a woman, he doesn't care what it costs to get rid of her. And whether you understand it or not, some women are more than willing to help a man who leaves a controlling woman like you. Better wake up, girlfriend.

I'd never do it, but perhaps some men don't feel happy with their scheming money-grabbing partner and look for a bit of pleasure elsewhere...
