I use Diesel fuel.applied with damp cloth.You have to be careful with the ratchet head mechanism if You dry it ,will spoil the ratchet. ( Snap On void the warranty if they find degreaser in the ratchet head,so I think Mack and Matco tools)
never use the parts cleaner fluid.

for the air tools I don't use air tools oil, I use automatic transmission fluid.

Paint thinner or mineral spirits. Clean things up great, but make sure you are in a well ventilated area.
