I guess this is how all these rumors about area 51 etc start. All the press said was that it had temperatures like earth and that the gravity was twice that of earth BUT they said it could "possibly" be habitable. We have no idea what it's like. It could be a gas giant (it has a mass 5x earth) it could have no atmosphere, it cound have a sea of sulphuric acid; since it's so close to its sun, it probably keeps one face pointed toward the sun all the time.. The answer is, we don't know. We could go there but at space shuttle speeds, it's 800,000 years away

It is pre mature to say yes or no.
We know very little about the planet except its temperature and gravitational force.
We know life only in one form. Cellular structure and needing oxygen (normally to breath) and water to survive. Can we say for sure that other forms of life are not possible. Will we be able to recognize other forms of life? Our earlier myth that oxygen is necessary is broken by anarobic bacteria. Our other myth that life can not sustain at high temperature has also been broken. Imagine a life which needs only electromagnetic radiation to survive. Wild guess? Is it impossible?
Even if there is life in whatsoever form, we are not able to reach this planet with today's technology.

According to a news report just in , astronomers have their telescopes trained on one of the inhabitants of the new planet .
Apparently , they look like giant potatoes , with one eye in the upper center and small arms and legs , and a bushy head of hair .
They`ve promised us pictures in tomorrow morning`s paper as well .

We barely know that it exists let alone any detail like life. Its highly unlikely but we won't know for sure until we get there.
