The batsman coming at the top are quality batsman who can go over the fieldman in the ring. Therefore it is not necessary to send pinch hitters. The wickets in west indies has swung early making it difficult for the pinch hitters. .

Well the wickets in west indies are not batsman friendly, its would have been a very tough job for the pinch hitters to get the runs quickly on those sort of wickets. Good Techinque is what reqd. to score runs in those situations, which the pinch hitters dont have.

Over the years, the trend of one day international matches has changed a lot. Aince there are Power Play rule regarding field restrictions, pinch hitters are required at the top of the order and the openers are able to score runs by using lofted strokes taking full advantage of field restrictions during the power play.

west indies pitches are not suitable for pinch hitters....
only the standard batsman can make runs in the first 20overs...
If a batsman who is middle in the ground for some times can make runs very quikly on these pitches...
thats y no one take the choice of pinch hitters in these world cup matches....
Also the first 20 overs are very useful for the bowlers also....
it is not an easy task to make runs pinch hitters in these overs...

Becoz till now there is no match which required a pinch hitter in this world cup.The piches in WI swing much.And this also a reason.Okay if India is though to semifinals sure you will see a pinch hitter (Irfan Patan) but unfortunately they were out in the first round.

coz there was no need to. ppl lyk Jayasuriya and hayden n gilchrist can do the pinch hitting. All the leading theams have @ least 2 batsman in the top 3 who can do that so they didn't use that ploy.
