Joss has stated that there will be no revival of Firefly on the small screen and the chances of us seeing a sequel to Serenity, let alone the trilogy we had hoped for, are very very remote. However, Joss and the Firefly cast do consistently say they would jump at the chance to return to the 'verse should the opportunity arise. Don't hold your breath though :P (And as for Wash and Book - flashbacks of course! We live in hope.)

The comic series "Serenity: Those Left Behind" and the upcoming "Serenity: Better Days" give us a little more by way of stories from the 'verse.

Joss's current projects include writing the aforementioned Serenity comics, a writing stint on the Runaways comics and working on "Goners" a new movie project. In early Feb Joss announced that he was no longer working on Wonder Woman.

From what I understand Firefly was one of the best series that no one watched. Admittedly I didn't watch it when it was on TV (I don't watch much network television these days) but I bought the dvd's and I loved the show. I've heard that he's trying to get the series brought back but that's going to be hard to do. I haven't looked at Joss' website but probably the best thing he could do is to get all the fans to start a letter writing campaign or start a petition to show the networks that there are legions of people out there who would drop everything to watch the show.

I have no idea how hollywood works but I'm sure it all comes down to money. I guess if they don't think people are watching the show then there are no advertisers to sponsor it so the show gets yanked. I'd love it if the show came back and they started filming new episodes.

I don't know, but I did watch every bit of the DVD's special features and Whedon seems dedicated to the series - and rightly so, it was really good and had potential.

Yes, Serenity is the movie, Firefly, the series.

Joss Whedon said that he would love to do another movie, but will only continue the TV show if another network buys the rights from FOX, because he refuses to work with them.

He also says he's working on Wonder Woman first.

Although a lot of people loved this show and the movie, I wouldn't hold my breath as to any network bringing it back. Also they killed off Shepherd and Wash so bringing it back would be pointless now.
