Now don't laugh.

I seriously want to have a go at bricklaying. But I am disabled. I hasten to add I am not in a wheelchair!
Anyhow I have a bad leg where I have to wear a splint.
I may and emphasise may be able to get funding to go on this course which may lead to a job in bricklaying.

Does anyone reading this know or better still is classed as disabled is a bricklayer? If so how do you fair?

Its an odd question but I need to see what people think who are in my situation

Also If you are a manager/supervisor of a bricklaying firm how would you treat/react to a person with a disability who wanted a job or to train in learning to bricklay?

Many thanks

As far as I am aware, builders are normally self-employed (although the Inland Revenue has been trying to out a stop to that in recent years).

I guess you could enquire with the major House Building companies (Bovis Homes etc) to see it they run training courses, but I'm going to guess you will have to go to College.

What I can answer is the Managers view - if multiple candidates apply for a vacancy, the job will be offered to who-ever can convince me they will do the best job for the salary on offer.

I would not discriminate against anyone who applied - I would take into account Qualifications, Experience and previous employment record. This would give me a 'short list' who would be called for interview. Depending on the job, the interview might include an 'appitude' test but the main focus would be on how well your personality fits our business environment.

NB. I used to do a lot of recruiting via agencies. I have no problem with Agencies assisting candidates with their CV's but it was allways amazed at the number of people who came to interview without reading ther 'own' CV's ... and then disputed the details !

this isn't a incapacity issue. that is an argument about those who each from time to time have interaction in unpredictable violence. maximum human beings with cognitive impairments who might want to ask to carry a touch you'd be completely positive, or in the experience that they mandatory help it would want to be with such issues as understanding to help the top. yet someone who hits human beings by wonder, no be counted no matter if she has a incapacity or not, isn't someone i might want to be tender handing a touch one to. If I were you, i might want to say something like "Oh, he's so new, i merely can't undergo to allow him out of my fingers" and that i might want to reduce human beings's infant-conserving even as she might want to confirm, too. i imagine you're perfect to imagine of her emotions. The hitting might want to or might want to not be something she will administration (it will be a seizure or something; I had a buddy who stabbed me contained in the arm with a fork once contained in the middle of a seizure. He develop into embarrassed and apologetic later, yet for sure I knew that he develop into not on proper of problems with his body even as he did it), and the possibilities are that her intentions are solid. the thanks to address her emotions is the only part of this the position i imagine incapacity is appropriate, because for most human beings hitting someone is definitely a voluntary act besides the indisputable fact that it would want to't be for the female out of your church. yet both until eventually the hitting develop into less than administration and there develop right into a reason to imagine it would want to stay less than administration, or until eventually you grew to develop into waiting to understand even as it develop into going to ensue, i'd not resign a touch one or a small new child. thanks for being tender adequate to ask this question.
