Not an expert on Christmas, but generally Christmas things are supposed to be taken down on the 12th day of Christmas, which is the 6th of January. This includes the tree, decorations and presumable Christmas lights.
I know Christmas lights can be tricky and time consuming to put up and pull down.

Yes...mine are still up and have nearly melted during summer! (Gets bloody hot here in Northern Australia). They are merrily flashing away as I write this actually. Nothing wrong with a bit of sparkle all year round. Then in the Festive season...it looks like i am in the spirit and am the first one in town to have them up.

naw my neighborhood has these damn DEED RESTRICTIONS and all decorations have to be down by Jan.7 of each and every year
