Personally, my choice would be the awful-looking frontosa cichlid, yikes!

I think the blood parrot and its similar types are hideous, like the Frankensteins of fish.

Really all fish are ornamental, since that's why we keep them, so it we're going to differentiate I would think 'ornamental' would mean a fish created specifically for the aquarium, like fancy goldfish or the long finned betta - Frontosa aren't really ornamental, they're 100% natural.

I gotta say the Toadfish are the most amazing and notably ugly freakin creature I've ever seen. This is an example of something being so freakishly ugly, i find it beautiful.
