Your Mom is right if you don't own a women's electric shaver. Otherwise, you will end up cutting yourself with a razor. I suggest that you purchase a women's electric shaver if you want to shave down there.

I think the real question is why do you want to start shaving your vagina? Who do you plan to show it to? If you're 12, you need to think long and hard about the consequences of intimacy. Teenagers are notorious for not being as cautious as they should about who they sleep with and the precautions they use. Even if you're incredibly careful, your partner might not be, and there are some things that are possible to pass on even with a condom.
If you're not interested in becoming sexually active, what's the point? If it bugs you, ask her if you could trim it instead of shave it, believe me that stuff itches like heck growing back.

Your Mom! Why on earth would you want to shave your vagina? There is hair there for a reason, to keep your vagina clean and protected. Who would you be doing this for anyway? Stay young, just because your body is mature doesnt mean you are. Once you are an adult you can never go back.

And you want to shave, why?
If you have something to shave and you want to, go for it. It's not like it won't grow back.
Kind of a strange question to ask. You sound like you are indecisive if you need to come here to ask this. Your body may look 17 but your head is 12.

Your mom is probably right ....
although i wouldnt ask my mom if im allowed to shave my vagina! its none of her business!
dont be like all the other idiots that post questions about 'how do i know if im pregnant? or 'how do you get pregnant' on this website - listen to your mom and pay attention in school when they teach you about sex .... and if you do end up doing it, use a condom...

if you want crazy old perverted men to want your vagina, then shave it. I'd say listen to your mom, theres nothing special about shaving, it just gets all stubbly and annoying =)

I didn't start shaving til I was around 16. I would recommend that you please listen to your mom. If you aren't sure why she wants you to wait ask her in a nice and respectful manner why she wants you to wait.

I think you are a little too young to be doing that type of landscaping. :) If it gets too long and sticks out of a bathing suit, I think that can be trimmed with scissors but if you were my child I would want you to wait a few years before paying that much attention to your sexual organs. Please try hard to let yourself stay a kid for a while. It would suck for you to loose your teenage years.

By a razor thin margin, I'd say you are. It's up to you what you do in THAT part of your body, well...minus any tatoos or punctures.
