Do you think people 'look' like their name?

You often hear people say, "Oh yes, you look like a Laura." etc. Do you 'look' like your name? What do you think someone called Elaine should look like?

I think too many people are Pauls, so I don't think it's works for me. I think an Elaine would look quite intelligent, maybe dark-haired. They're probably not a punk or a goth. Is this a good description?

No, I think people grow into their name. I think this because I have three children and it was odd calling them by their names for a while after they were born, they just didn't look like any name. But now they look like their names to me. On the other hand, there are some people that when you find out their names, you think 'that name does not suit that person'. I think an Elaine looks like my mother-in-law, because that's her name.

I can remember my auntie saying I looked like my name when I was little and it confused me for years, but yes as daft as it is I do think some people look like a certain name, I know 2 Elaine's and both have blond hair, slightly chubby and both so good at sulking.

Well i think we just get used to our names and the names of people around us that calling them anything else would seem strange... Like take for instance characters from T.V. you think that mostof their names suite them but when you hear them called by their real name, it seems odd- and that they don't suite their real name sometimes.

Like take the name Michelle for instance- how many different people have that name and how many of those people look anything alike.

So elaine could look like the child of parents who like the name elaine!
