My parents bought me a photo printer for Christmas.

I have never used a photoshop other than for 35mm film, so I can't really compare, but I like the convenience of having my own photo printer.

Mine has a scanner etc too so I can put my old photographs onto my computer without having to take a photo of a photo!

I prefer to print photo's in a shop as they printer much clearer than if I were to print them myself.

i would rather print them myself. it gives me control of how they are printed. i would only buy a printer and software program that allows me to edit the pictures. i don't have to be as methodical when i take pictures because i have the ability to take items out of them by printing them myself.

The photo shop will do it more expertly. But if it's pics I don't want others to see - well, I'll rather print them myself.

I think that in the long run...a home printer would save money if you take lots of photos. Mine has...(except for the cost of ink.)
