Don't know what category, however there isn't a lot that is similar! Maybe 'In the Ghetto', or 'Cryin' In The Chapel'? But 'If I can Dream' is still, and always will be, my favorite!

In The Ghetto, American Trilogy, Dont Cry Daddy, and he has more I cant think right now, cuz I have music on. Elvis has many beautiful songs, you may be surprised, especially if you are not that familiar with his music. Check it out!

In 1968 Elvis taped a t.v special in june the t.v special was called ELVIS how ever it did not get to the screens until december 1968 on n.b.c in this show he had being trying to put his song into segments such as Memories which was a ballard , song and then gospel songs . But in this show he he went and sat in the middle of the audiance , and in this segment he called it " ELVIS chaseing his Dreams And Superstardome. in this batch of songs he sang alot of songs about his struggle in his life , such songs as LOVE ME TENDER= WEAR MY RING AROUND YOUR NECK AAND FOLLOW THAT DREAMhe even sang a song which he says on the show had him in tears at the end of the song , this was called "crying in the chapel"but in the the t.v show he told the audiance that he had he had a brand new song to sing , he mentioned also that the writer of this song had specially written this for the this T.V SHOW. Elvis was asked by one person in the audiance as to what this song was based on ,He told this person and the audiance that it was based on , his thoughts on what had happened in turbulent Sixties, his feeling about life , his hopes for humankind. this song was to be called "IF I CAN DREAM? I do know someone who has a recording of this show , and at the end of this beautiful song , their is a person who was asked as to what they thought of this last song "If I Can Dream " and she said Elivis sang this song to let people know that their was a message in the words of the song . she went on to to say that Elvis put a lot of passion into the song and the performance of it was a astounding. So that is how this song came about , he was only 33 years old when he made that song
