I dont think he should be allowed to go, not because hes royalty but because it will just put too many lives at risk with him being there. He will be a great prize to capture and no way would the royal family, government or the army allow his head to be chopped off so it would just put other people in more danger trying to rescue him and keeping him safe. He doesnt even go to a night club without having minders to bundle him into a car at the end of the night. So how can he go on the front line?

No, he shouldn't!

His presence there increases the danger for his peers; there are already reports that Harry is being seen by the enemy as a 'prize' and that they are keen to capture him.

It's bad enough that our troops are out there risking their lives - just because Harry wants to be there doesn't justify increasing the danger for these young men even more.

And besides, Harry's proved he's a bit of a twit back here in the UK time and time again - can you imagine what he'll be like in the middle of a war zone??!

A final thought: if they do allow Harry to go, and something happens to him, the morale of our troops and this country will be damaged so badly, while our enemy will see it as a massive victory.

Remember that all of the army experts have spoken out condemning the decision to let Harry go - surely their opinion should count for something?

So I say: Keep Harry Here!!!

The Royal Family has a history of serving in the military and serving their country on the front lines. I would think that the citizens of the UK would be proud of that. I wonder how many US or Canadian government officials would let their children serve in front line action. As for the British press agreeing to a "gag order", it's the responsible thing to do. The average citizen doesn't need to know at the time where the Prince is, and it doesn't put him or his unit at uneccesary risk. A news story after the fact would have been great. I wonder what purpose it served the news outlets that did leak this information. "freedom of the press" is all well and good if there is a dollar to be made or it doesn't affect oneself. As for pulling him out of harms way, the military doesn't have a choice in the matter now, as the unit will become a deliberate target. They likely will have to face increased action anyway, as there will be Taliban that want to think that the Prince is still in Afghanistan. I can understand the Prince feeling trapped in England as the media attention on any celebrity must be unbearable. Also, some media outlets have far different ethics to others and print stuff just for attention and money. I think it was a brave and honourable thing for him to go to Afghanistan as it sets a good example to the British public.

Prince Harry has always stated that he wants to serve on the front line, he wants to serve the country like everybody else in the army does but I don't think he should. Once the Iraqis know that the Queens Grandson is out there in a war zone, him and his regiment will be targetted instantly putting Prince Williams life at severe risk and those soldiers around him. Leave him at home to save the lives of his and his fellow comrades.

Yes. It's a great opportunity for him, possibly his only chance, of being like a normal person instead of a hugely priveleged "royal". If he's captured his story will be worth much more than the sailorgirl's. But he won't be, will he. And at least, the medal on his chest will have been earned not simply inherited or invented-for-photocalls

My concern would be - he's going to be such a massive target. He'd be a real trophy catch - surely this increases the already considerable danger faced by those serving around him.

But if he truly wants to go - I can respect that. Especially when it would be so easy to find a reason for him not to.

If he wants to,I dont see why not but as I answered in a previous question of someones,I would not want any son or daughter of mine on the front line or in the forces at all.Its too horrible to think about.

Yes he should be allowed to serve on the front line as he signed himself up for duty he then should be allowed to serve on the front line.

That is his decision & no one elses.

Good luck to him I say & shows that they dont get everything that they want easily.

yes he should... he joined and trained with the army because he wanted to serve, and serving means travelling abroad to join the militaries operations which happen to be in Iraq.
If he isn't going to be allowed then surely they should have prevented his joining in the first place... it gives him the responsibility and experience required of a King and shows that no one is better than anyone else

I have no problem with it.
I wish the Bush-twins could be compelled to serve; since their daddy says the war is a noble cause.
