Yes, go to Wireless Network Connections Properties.
In Wireless Networks under preferred networks
remove all the other networks you tried to connect to leaving only your own, that should sort the problem.
Failing that, try using a channel that is not been used by to many people and make sure that you SSID is unique.
Also make sure that you have a good signal to your own wireless router. You may be to far from it and have a weak signal, if that is the case use an aerial to boost the power.

Well more and more people are adding wireless to the local area and as they do more and more interferance becomes a major issue.
In most homes there will be other wireless networks around these days. The one thing you can do is be sure you are using a channel with less traffic and thus less interferance.
A great little program to let you see the other networks around you is called netstumbler. If your wireless card is compatible with it you can see what other networks are around and what channels they are using.
Since most wireless routers/access points ship with a default channel of 1,6 or 11 (at least in the US) you should try using any channel besides one of those like 4, 8, 9 etc. That will give you a little better performance.
You might also have a microwave oven or cordless phone etc that is creating interferance. You will have to become a detective of sorts to find your issue but it is solvable in nearly all situations. (It wont be in the next few years if wireless growth continues unless more channels become available.)

It could be a lot of things, however since I own as well a wireless modem, my internet connections are unlimited. I have 3 computers and could take far more.
I would check the modem to see what are the limits and the settings on the modem.
However you could go here and ask them to be sure you got the problem solved.
www.protonic.com is an online community that provides technical support to computer users for free. We prefer to call our users "Clients," because we have the philosophy that, despite our service being free, you should still receive the highest quality technical support.
Tell them as much possible information bout your computer and modem.
