i lost my car key and got a new cut from the 5 digit num on the door lock this was recommended to me by toyota dealer and they cut the key it will only go in a coule of mm which should have worked on doors and ignition the car is a toyota estima enima 1996 it will not fit doors or ignition barrel

Hi, just had the same problem. Rub the sharp edges off you key with some wet and dry paper. As the car is 11 years old the original key and locks have worn a bit.

my answer to your original question clearly states the wrong blanks been used. keys have different basic shapes or profiles. and the one you have does not corrispond with the form or profile your locks have. therefore it won't fit. even if it has the correct teeth cut on it! take the lock barrel to the toyota agent and ask them to demonstrate how it works with the key they cut for you!

if it doesn't work after the edges are sanded then they used the wrong model key to cut.

Sounds like either it wasn't properly cut, or the number you gave them wasn't the right one for your car.

Of course, if you're driving a "Toyota Enema".... ? :)
