Yes smurf this is a little know fact, no one has ever died in a plane crash while sat at the back of the plane, you'll only suffer a bloody nose at the most an maybe a slight headache, apart from that you'll be fine.

Its the middle becuz the tail may drag on a crash landing. I never sit in the first 10 or last 10 rows if I can help it. Sit within the main body of the fuselage that rarely breaks up in a crash. Its documented as safer per accident survuval rates.

i saw a documentary about plane crashes which stated statistically speaking the safest place to sit was where the wings joins the fuselage the structure of the plane was stronger there, hope this helps

I heard the safest place on the plane is to sit on top of the black box. It never gets damaged!!!!.

Different planes have different safe areas. Some planes have an extra strong bulkhead somewhere, and some people have survived crashes by sitting with their backs to it while crashing. others have survived in the "wing-seat". and the tail sometimes survives too, but it depends on the kind of plane and the kind of crash.

No where on a plane is safe, everywhere you sit is subjected to danger, that's why i'm nervous of aeroplanes..

Do you not remember some of the air disasters from the 70's, maybe your too young to but sitting at the back was no good back then.
