There is a seperate of church & state. And with most things, you should be able to legally be a consciencious objector if the state conflicts with some of your religious beliefs. They will try to bully you into conforming though if they have no better way to spend their time. And if it conflicts with your beliefs, fight it. I still pay my taxes in this country. My paying them taxes that they can spend on whatever programs shouldn't mean that they own me & force me into whatever they want. We contribute to society by paying taxes & should be able to choose what programs we want to be part of. After all, we are the ones paying. There are illegal aliens living in this country freely participating in programs they want to & are not even helping to pay for them thru taxes.
If I were you, I would ignore those who live in glass houses. Show off the things you know more of than they do. It's all about competition these days. :0 Everyone should yearly take an IQ test to determine who is more superior. Then snubbly rub it in those inferior faces & tell them to go stock or gather carts or work in a field (like illegal aliens) and HAVE A NICE LIFE. Or be a lifer at a fast food joint or do manual labor in a mill (big money there, tho) or wow -join the military & get a better education there while others are thanklessly not appreciating your contribution to society because they can score better on an IQ or grammar/spelling test than you. (I bet I can spell/write better than some people that have a higher paying job than me. So what's the point here?) No matter how great or small a job is, it still needs to be done & makes the world go round. Appreciation to garbage truck drivers or sanitation workers, etc. (taxi drivers, bus...) Smelly, non-glamorous jobs but they need to be done. So, thank you!
BTW, my brother-in-law is set to retire in a few years from the armed service. He got his GED there and decided to stay in and be a lifer. He's done a great service to our country. He worked himself up to an impressive title & has an impressive amount of ribbon bars.
But then, other people (some of them received diplomas, some failed requirements to graduate & were denied a diploma after sticking it out, some dropped out, some got GEDs, some didn't) have done well simply by doing other jobs & staying out of jails, prisons & logging down our court systems.
The State is the law enforcing authority. If you don't respect it, anarchy will result? What about states that use to say that vaccinations were a requirement by law? Some people's children were irreversibly harmed from being bullied into that. Now they no longer try to force it & manipulate it to be a non-flexible law. What about when it was the law for blacks to sit at the back of the bus? Laws also need to be changed, amended, and to be flexible as times change or as circumstances deem it to be neccesary.

There is nothing wrong with the institutions. It is the people who are responsible to run them. They should be responsible to public and answerable for their deeds not commensurate to their position and status. Any default is liable to be punished under the law and viewed seriously by the public also.
