Innocence - An attitude with lack of desires, a stage when you know nothing about pleaasures of unethical acts (according to me).

As time passes by, people keep learing. they learn about the wrongs and the rights. They learn about the pleasures the wrongs can give them and the satisfaction the rights can provide them. At this point, we the peole are the choosers. We choose a path, the easiear one with short term pleasure, or the difficult one with lifetime satisfaction. Most the times, we prefere short term pleasures. These pleasures, push out the feeling of satisfaction. Instead, they initiate more desires.

The one who cannot control his desires would definitely miss being innocent. Unfortunately, most of us look out for pleasures. Hence I admit that most of us would miss innocence. The one who knows how to take charge over it's desires, the one who understands taht lifes not about materialism but about humanity would never miss innocence. Instead it would achieve the state of ultimate bliss - 'Nirvana' or 'Moksha' cos inspite of the knowing waht's more easy to acheive, more pleasurable; they chose the difficult path, the path of mental satisfaction.

All the best...

:-)

OMG yes! I remember a few weeks ago reading a news story about these kids who were only 13 years old, engaging in sex while the teacher was out of the room! (They apparently had someone watch the door while it was happening!) Now, I remember myself at that age, and I don't recall ever feeling, or even thinking about sex! Everything was so new, and exciting, even the simple pleasures, like riding bikes with your friends, having innocent sleepovers with friends (girlfriends) going to the beach, not feeling any self consciousness about my body ( THAT didn't even enter my mind! I was going out there to swim and make sandcastles!) and now the beach is a meat market. I think that's fantastic that someone would tell you that you look innocent! Well, I agree with you completely, now I am almost 45 and I know way too much about life and how really horrible and cruel and not fair it really can be,and I regret certain choices I've made, and now I view the world with a cynical attitude, which I hate. I've tried not watching too much news because I've found that if I hear too much about kids getting blown up in Iraq, or that insane psycho who killed 33 people at Virginia Tech, I go numb just to protect myself from feeling even more depressed. I remember where the only real *crime* in a school (high school) was whispering in class or passing notes or smart mouthing a teacher. Now they're killing them. It's very sad indeed. But don't let all of these bad things ruin your innocence. Just stay away from the news, and actually go and interact with real people outside! Create your own private innocence.

i try my best to retain that simplicity that I had a few years back. but I have lost some of it. as for innocence I have lot a lost of it.yes, i want it to come back. in this brutual world people dont let u be simple, honest or just. the society demands a lot of hypocrisy and there is so much envy and hatred. but I still try my best to preserve my ethics n though its been hard I have managed to retain more than what I have lost. i am twenty three and have learnt much about the world n its ways recently. when u grow up more u will see a lot of other ugly things too.

No, I do not miss being innocent. I thoroughly enjoy knowing all I know and being the way I am.
I love hearing a dirty joke, and not simply laughing because of the use of a dirty word. I love being able to see and handle graphic images on Nip Tuck, without being pulled away from the story. I love being able to understand what is going on in the world, and asking the question "how can we solve this?" not "what is that, why is this happening"
To be innocent to the world is to be ignorant of the world. Though it is a pleasant thought to be innocent of the world's flaws, that doesn't correct these flaws from existing.

Yes and No.

I felt quite alive as a child and played, innocent to the world, but was I more alive because I was innocent? Or was it simply because I was a child?

I miss the days when I would argue about going to bed as a child because I was afraid I'd miss something. Today I sleep in as long as I can.

There are things I've seen in my life I wish I could forget.

In those cases I'd like to be innocent again. However, there are also times where I'm glad I've been taught to keep my eyes open and it's probably saved my life.

If I wanted to live forever, I'd want to be innocent again. But the fact is, I've appreciated my years and enjoy growing older and wiser (hopefully).

I attribute this concept more with ignorance than innocence. You speak of becoming less rational and knowledgeable and
and as a result, less just.

How can we act in a correct manner if we see things through child's eyes? Children do not understand correct action due to lack of understanding. Although they arguably are less likely to do evil as well, they are in a position to do less good, and counter less evil due to such ignorance. In a world which has never been innocent, why seek to become free of the burdens of responsibilities yourself. One doesn't become just by releasing such burdens, but by acting in a manner as to oppose them.

No child is capable of countering war, bigotry, scandal, or oppression, yet these are very real issues, that no matter how much we wish to remove from the world, exist unless we take action against them.

yeah, i look younger than i am but i cant get my younger years back. im a troubled person and at least when i was younger i was excited about all the new things, even if i was more awful and depressed behind doors. now the busyness and excitement just stopped. it's all a bit numb and muted.

i love my cousins. i have neices from bad parts town (no working parents, boardom sets in and they steal and vandalise- theyre so young.) and cousins from extremely good parts (both parents working, one of them a teacher so theyre not spoiled, they do their work, theyre good kids) and the ones from the good area are more innocent than the neices from the bad. the "good kids" behave like grownups that know nothing about being grown up and the bad kids are childish and do incredibly grown up things.
my neices and cousins are around 7-10 years old. their parents are in their 30s. i am 19. my neices father abused me a few times when i was younger. id like the innocence.

When a cookie fixed everything? Knowledge of foreign policy, war, WMD, corruption, violence. The sad irony of life is you always can't wait to get older, to drive, drink legally and someday you wake up wishing you were younger. There is still some innocence in your life, having you ever seen the faces of hikers on top of a mountain? If you allow yourself to look through the eyes of a child with intrique and wonder, you may see things through new eyes.

I will always remember my childhood and its a shame the young ones of today will never experience that but we are moving too fast and i think alot of parents put pressure on their kids cuz they want them to be "someone" but at a cost, they also give them whatever they want cuz "they" never had anything so they don't want their kids to go without, that's fair enough but the balance is out, also bad people get away with too much and the media is brainwashing them also innocence is "marketed" to.

i think of that adulthood in case you will take your place in society contains us dropping innocence. in case you want to grow to be a make certain, carry down a job, grow to be a companion then particular you lose your innocence. the element is that as you attain adulthood you apart from mght get to make your very own judgements in existence and make your very own blunders. this implies you may desire to comprehend the risks and the skill loses and beneficial aspects. you may basically do this via awareness the risks, and as you place it lose your innocence. you won't be able to strengthen and coach a baby in case you dont comprehend all the ramifications in contact. This of necessity ability dropping innocence. maximum individuals seem returned at our formative years with fond memories, yet the two few individuals might actually want to grow to be a baby returned. maximum individuals seem forward to make certain hood. My god i sound like a maximum suitable pompous prat, however the long and short is not any i dont be apologetic approximately dropping my innocence, cos i like being a mum and having the household projects and privileges that all and sundry which brings.
