Have it in a warm covered box with a dish of water. Does anyone have any ideas regarding care if it is still alive in the morning. I am in Cessnock NSW.

First of all, you've done exactly the right thing. Keep him warm and quiet overnight. Currawongs are omnivoures. Feed him mince with a bit of oats or budgie seed mixed in. He will also relish fruits like grapes and banana, meal worms, moths, crickets..... Encourage him to take heaps of fluids. He will be dehydrated from the "captive stress". I would suggest you take him to the vet if he is still unable to perch in the morning. He could have a head injury. Vets don't typically charge to treat wildlife. Best of luck, and feel free to contact me via my profile if you need any more help. Currawongs are one of my faves! They are incredibly intelligent, and have a beautiful song.

Call WIRES (Wildlife Rescue Service), they are in the phone book. They will advise you on temporary care and will arrange to collect the currawong. They will take it to a registered carer who specialises in birds.
