Economics becomes uninviting and confusing instead of more like a social science its more like a dry prefabed statistical analysis program.
This turns most people who should and could and ought to be actively engaged in important local or national economic discussion and understanding into wanting to zone out in front of time, energy, and money wasting past times.

Am I wrong? If so how and why? Am I right?
Where do I get this perception?

Economics is about numbers and the easiest way to understand meaning of numbers is a well constructed graphs. Economic textbook often put too little care in presenting information just picking up what is readily available, but students also need to make an effort. How can you engaged in a national discussion on (for example) income inequality if you do not know what the numbers are and what they mean.
This is one of my favorite graphs on the web that provides insight about the the income structure In the US and see if you find it boring or educational. http://www.visualizingeconomics.com/2006/11/05/2005-us-income-distribution/

When you hear the word social you need to think of such a large number of people that related fields become impersonal and statistical.

Economics is super boring because charts and graphs are the best way to illustrate the massive amounts of money that people in the field consider - they like money and it's a social science because the way people spend reflects how society is working. It's boring, but economists like it - it just takes the right people.

There are over 6 billion human beings on our planet. to assume that there is purely one which you're able to have a smart courting with is slightly naive. while you're fortunate, you nonetheless locate the guy alluring after the honeymoon era, and something is artwork to maintain that going. A "soul mate" is a incredible thought, yet i do no longer think of this is in any respect sensible.

There is a lot of formal mathematics in economics. That fact cannot be changed just because people's attention spans are too short.
