There is a green tape that you can wrap around your finger tips. It is made for people who work with knives and other sharp tools so a paper sheet should be no problem. it comes off easily too.Finger cots are an alternative (look like tiny condoms) to cover your finger tips.

Although many others advice you to wear gloves, I don't think that is a practical solution, unless you are willing to.
Paper cut is due to friction and at the sharp edge of the paper.
1. So you may want to first hold away from the edges.
2. Handle the paper slowly so even if you accidentally brush against the edge of paper, it won't cut it.
3. In this day and age, why do you need to handle so much paper, Use the computer and save in harddisk or thumbdrive or CD roms etc.
If you do get a cut, quickly press it down neatly and usually it will close back and heal fast.
Good Luck!

1) Don't use paper
2) Use protective equipment over your hands, such as
a. gloves
b. cloth to hold the paper with
c. tape on your entire hand
3) Have someone else handle the paper for you so that their hands get cut, not yours.
4) Place all paper in glass cases (with frames, so you don't get cut by the glass, ruining the whole point of using glass) so that you don't actually touch the paper unless it's on your terms.
5) Pour water on the paper so it's not as hard and isn't able to cut you.
6) Buy less stiff paper, like wax paper or tissue paper. No cuts.
Hope I helped!

You can prevent a lot of paper cuts by keeping hand lotion on your hands and not letting your skin dry out.
I handle paper all day at work, and it really does help.

tape your fingers. A great treatment for paper cuts is some chapstick. Just rub into the area cut and it helps keep the cut sealed, resulting in faster healing and less pain.

All valid answers so far and this isn't an answer as much as a method of first aid.
This works, and I'm not at all trying to garner a laugh.
I used to work in the printing trade and paper cuts were an occupational hazard, as were cuts from film.
In the dark room we kept a tube of "Preparation H" for such cuts. I was skeptical when told about it, but tried it at some point and it helped. Not only did it stop any blood that might have happened from a cut, (because it's designed to "shrink") but it helped with any annoying pain associated, and aided in healing.
