The patio door led out to dirt so I bought some concrete pavers and laid them down in a boxed frame at the foot of the patio. What is that called? Doorstep didnt really describe what I made.

It's only 6 square feet, 3 feet wide and 2 feet deep almost like a concrete doormat, and its already outside the patio...

I'd say a stoop, but it doesn't sound like there are stairs involved...
Maybe a "mini-patio"?

Depending on size, how about courtyard, minicourt, or terrace? Or maybe path, pathway, footpath, or 'paveway'?
( I kind of like paveway myself)
