Hi, I have a 03 Toyota Corrolla and I was wondering, is it bad for the car to pull the e-brake to do 180's? I know its bad for the tires but how about the rest of the car?

It's pretty hard on the rear end.

Doing stunts like that is a good way to wear out your car really fast. A Toyota Corrolla was designed to be an economy car, not a stunt driver's car! Rest assured that the bearings, steering, and suspension will not hold up very long to that kind of abuse.

Some sports cars are designed to be tougher and would hold up for a little longer. Then something would break. It's a car, not an army tank.

If you don't mind spending thousands of dollars on repair, then do all the stunts you want.

Are you doing these stunts on the street? In some areas they will charge you with a felony for that sort of thing (reckless driving).

It is a little jarring on the suspension and, of course, your e-brake springs and brake pads.

Other than that, I don't really think anything else would be terribly affected.

Hope this helps!

You must have mis-placed the owners' manual, because it clearly says this is the best way to slow down and/or change the direction a car is pointing. Keep doing, as often as possible.

its actuallly a good thing for your car. MOst people don't pull it often. It stimulates your rear ajusters if you have rear drums.
