I don't think you are crazy at all. Hey, in some ways I can relate to that because I can not stand to see someone chew on their clothes. I can't even take a knot out of a shoe string because the feel of the string on my nails drive me crazy. I can understand the extremely dry feeling of the towels and the heat. They make my hands feel rough and awfully dry. It's really hard to explain. I don't believe that that is any different than neat freaks, or anybody else. Everybody is unique. Hell, we all have problems!

I sympathize with you and your problem. You are not crazy.
I solved my towel problem by letting them dry on a rack or line. If you need towels in a hurry, partially dry them in the dryer and finish with an air dry.
Off the rack, the towels are rough. I like them that way.
Also cheaper to air dry. Good for the ecology.
Maybe we are all crazy but , we know what we don't like
Good luck.

I know what you mean. I have a similiar thing with another type of fabric, similiar to velvet, but its spongey and is used in some pillows. whenever i squeeze it, I get the chills, just thinking about it can even bring about the chills...i don't know what it is either. I almost get the same sensation with the cotton balls/q-tips but not as bad as with the abovementioned material which i don't know the name of.

I personally can't relate but my old roomate had the same problem! She hated velvet, cottonballs, fleece, felt... things like that and she would shiver and get the chills and cover her ears??? Yeah I thought it was crazy too, but aparently its pretty common. I just think you have sensitive senses.

It's just like some people go nuts when fingernails scrape on a chalkboard, or patent leather shoes rub together. We are all individuals. That's just the one that bugs you. I seriously doubt it's anything more than that.
I have a nerve disease, and all kinds of things that don't bug other people can drive me nuts. Like TV commercials. They make me want to throw the TV out! And buzzing fluorescent lights. Ohhh, don't get me started!

There are a lot of strange things that science can't explain so they say they don't exist in the real world. Yours is some thing that sounds far fetched but I bet that somebody already discovered what it is.
