Older guys and Gals are like stuck in the 60's 70's Rock Era, but the new Rock Hits today for somereason just can't beat Led Zepplin and such. It really is not the same as it use to be. Rock is bnot dead, but the times are changing....out with the old in with the junk.

Allot of the answers tells me most agree with me about todays music. Rock is changing and I am saddened by it becasue I'm an old fart and like 50' 60' 70's Rock & Roll. Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Lyndrd Skynrd, Ted Nugent, Van Halen, Grateful Dead, ZZ Top, Boston, ELO, Queen, The Who, The Doobie Brothers, Chicago...ect These bands are the greatest to hit the wave on the market for Rock. Today I can't relate to the crap...it makes no sense to me.

I'm a teenager and I can't follow any of the new music. I mainly listen to 60's and 70's rock but I make exceptions for Progressive Rock, but I usually don't listen to songs that are younger than me.
Whenever I'm with my friends and they talk about music, I am so lost. I never know who these new uscisians are (Jojo? who?)
I think I'll stick to my Floyds and Bostons

I think the issue is, that the 60's and 70's had music that had a reason. It had alot of songs that needed to get out and have them heard. Todays music is sounding like its just the revamped stuff of the 70's. I mean a few artist have been able to make some stuff that is quality and should be listened to.

One of the other issues that we have, is that much of the music today is forced on us. It isn't good. The 60's and 70's didn't have people pushing the music. You went out to concerts and seen them in person. That is what made the music so classic. I think one of the major diffrences to me is that today everyone is so worried about being popular, they forget that they need to feel the music.

So to answer your question, no i don't feel up to the new times in music, but its because i am not willing to lower my standards of music.

I don't think the problem is unique to you. The artistes I hear today - Pink Floyd, Beatles, Roxette, Abba, Iron Maiden, U2, REM - all had their heyday in past. You are right, today's rock music is just not the same. Fall Out Boy? Linkin Park? I'd rather listen to Britney Spears.

Or maybe we are just getting older!

im only 21 and i would listen to 60s and 70s ANYDAY over ANYTHING. I like everything, but I really feel like music today isnt as inspired or well writen or creative or original. NOT TO MENTION music back then was so easy following, easy listening, puts ya in a good mood, even if its about something bad, it doesnt affend you because not everyother word is f**k. DONT GET ME WRONG, I TOTALLY APPRECIATE ALL MUSIC, BUT I REALLY APPRECIATE THE OLDIES... THERES NOTHING LIKE UM... I WISH PEOPLE WOULD START MAKING MUSIC LIKE THAT AGAIN. DO YOU THINK ITS EVEN POSSIBLE OR HAS OUR SOCIETY GONE TO FAR DOWN THE DRAIN?

Seriously is like EVERY song I listen to has a freaking RAPPER in it... All good muscians are teaming up with rappers, or Reggaeton artist, as if they cant make good music on their own...
