Sounds like you lost or broke a belt.

There is a belt that runs your alternator (that charges your battery), your water pump (for cooling) and your power steering pump.

Check to see if there are any empty pulleys in your engine compartment, for you have likely lost the main belt. It is also called a serpentine belt on some cars. The repair shop should have one for 10-15 dollars. They are usually fairly easy to install. Most of the time, you'd loosen one component in the series (usually the alternator) and slip the belt on. Then tighten your alternator back up and you're ready to go.

Hope this helps!

Broken belt etc etc

Also look for the cause. It could be just a belt failure but also check that the alternator, water pump, and power steering pump pulleys are spinning freely as a tight or seized one will cause belt failure .

You have a broken drive belt(s), that goes to the waterpump and the power steering pump and the alternator.

Right lets see, battery light coming on - new alternator, power steering pump failed - replace, high temperature - water pump failed.

Should cost you about £500.00

Or you could just replace the broken drive belt.

have you checked your belt, possibility that is broken, or when engine is running the belt is not moving, and the pulleys on the waterpump, alternator and powersteering pump are not moving.
