there is a tool for running Windows Programs in Linux called WINE
WINE is available for free download from the project website you can access form this link http://www.winehq.org/(For Windows users, you should make sure to get in your download the three files needed for running WINE properly: winerpm, updated wine.conf, user.dat file.)

In most cases no. But some programs are made with a linux version and a microsoft version... there's a couple of freeware programs like this and the number of programs available to linux is increasing!

nope. you need an windows emulator to run on linux in order for windows programs to run. I think theres a problem with linux reading NTFS too.
