Yes...... and people who don't should get one. If you look around in answers one of the most common questions is "I need a passport fast". They get married, want to go on a honeymoon, get offered a trip, etc. It's good for ten years and is way cheaper to get when you are not in a major hurry.
Plus in this day and age with the Patriot act you need proof of citizenship to open a bank account. With the new ID acts you have to have all sorts of documents and it will only get tighter. Even if you get a new job you have to have two forms of ID.
For all of these things and many others once you have a passport thats the only document you need.

No I don't have a passport because I have never been outside the USA to another country.

Yes, a wonderful US passport which has allowed me to travel to Nicaragua, England, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland. I love going to other countries!

Yes, but I have yet to use it. I'll probably have to use it next month when flying out of Kuwait back to the U.S. (which really is funny since it'll be the sixth time going through Kuwait, but the first time it's been used).
