Give him time - he'll get to it... he's still settling in!

It certainly is normal if my hamster is anything to go by. We have had him a year and he has never used his wheel! I think he is clever and realised that no matter how fast and how long he runs for he is still in the same place!

That said, he loves running around the house either freely or in his hamster ball. All hamsters have their own likes and dislikes, so providing you take him out every evening for him to get his exercise he will be fine.

It's nothing to worry about, he just may not want to!

It took my mice 6 weeks to learn how to use their wheel. I'd given up hoping they were ever going to, they just used to chuck anything they didn't want in it! Then one day I saw one just hop on it and go for it like he'd always been doing it, and they were never off it after that.

Just leave the wheel in the cage in case the hamster decides one day he does want to go for a run after all. Most hamsters do like it but not all, they're all different!

he may not be used to use the wheel... it's just like a person first time seeing a bike and he's force to sleep with it...
so try to teach your hamster to use the wheel by seducting him to run on the wheel with his feed. put some feed in the wheel and remove the feed bowl. check on him every hour if you can. this might be "evil", but if your hamster dun exercise, he will get fat and get ill.

It's because the wheel is too small. Hamsters need a bigger wheel than mice, which is probably what the wheel is, they run differently.

Did you read the instructions thoroughly when you bought the wheel. You may have run out of fuel for your wheel take it to a service centre and have an expert give it the once over.
Maybe the engine has seized up. If so it'll cost a mint to replace it.

He may just not be interested in it yet. Not all hamsters like wheels, don't worry give him time to explore his new surroundings

i had one the same once- it used to fall off and got scared.
then we stuck a cork on the axle to slow the wheel down and that sorted it!

does the wheel move freeley, as it may be too stiff for him to use. alternativly if it is a metal one, he may not like the feel if it on his feet. Mine would onlt use a solid plastic one,
