Check out the FFA website. They are the controlling authority not the state.

A pilot's license is a federal license. The State authorities has no longer something to do with it. The FAA says you need to be a minimum of: 16 to solo 17 for a private pilot's license 18 for a commec=rcial pilot's license 23 for an airline shipping pilot's license there is not any minimum age to start up taking classes.

You'll need from 40-65 hours of instruction. As far as cost goes, you'll have to call around becuase they rarely publish prices on their pages.

I am not sure of the age, I know it is fairly young. Call Hooks Airport, they give flying lessons, and will give you all the info you want.
