i'm assuming i can use some type of alkaline fluid, any suggestions?

Baking soda and water solution. Baking soda is at the opposite end of the scale for acids. It is a base. This will neutralize the acid in the battery water. Make a nice liquid solution of the water and baking soda, pour it in, then rinse. Be sure to wear protective gloves and eye protection too. You can absorb the liquid with papertowels and dispose of them in the garbage.

since the battery fluid is an acid
neutralize it with a base like baking soda
or go to an auto parts store they have overpriced products that will have the same effect

baking soda--just sprinkle it over the acid and then add some water, but you will need to use a wet vac, to remove from trunk carpet...

they have special cleaners at auto parts stores for that. but just go to your fridge and get some baking soda and mix it with water.

Ar-Juna A - that is a bad idea. remember basic chemistry? water to acid and you get....? BLASTED!
