I was hoping to expand the concept of gratitude to include those things which we have and those things that we don't have.

RH, unfortunately, confuses 2 phases of gratitude. Gratitude can exist without any sense of obligation or indebtedness that would lead to resentment.

I've grown into a very grateful person. Hitting rock bottom causes you to really examine your life and learn to look at it from a different perspective. There's always something to be grateful for. Even if it's just that you're given another day of life on this earth.

Yes I am grateful for life itself, for I have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body. I can be grateful for just about anything, everyday is a gift.

November is Gratitude month.

I am grateful for being alive and all the wonders of being here. Today, even with a horrible migraine, I realized that there were some great moments of bird watching when I did get up and move around .

I am grateful for every good thing, and surviving every bad thing.

I totally agree that people in this life have things to be greatful for. For instance, my husband used to complain that he grew up poor and underpriveledged. Well, he had a microwave and refriderator and a tv. He had all those things just because they werent the best, he felt poor and underpriveleged. I would say that he wasnt grateful. I think it takes a trip to an impoverished society to really count your blessings. Greed in society is plentiful. It seems that people that are poor arent excepted and treated fairly. But I guess thats how society works.

I would say i am extremely grateful, every day the saying to stop and smelll the roses means to absorb life with every pore of your being and the gratitude of freedom to be alive and healthy, how can you not be grateful to feel the sun, the waterd down your neck, and the breeze in your hair, tumbling in bed with my son playing spiderman, I am grateful, how can one not be?

Everyday I learn something new. I am often surprised at the source of the new info. It is not always useful, but still I am grateful each and everyday for knowing so many different and interesting people.

I am a grateful person. I thank all the people around me for making me a strong person to face the world alone by myself. Without them, I wouldn't know the meaning of solo flight through independence.

In "Stranger in a Strange Land", Robert Heinlein said that gratitude, in Japanese, always translates as resentment. Think about it.

Yes, I am grateful! For everyday, for everyone, for the people that try to trip me, for people that take the time to "taunt" me. For the people that love me like I'm a gift from god or something. For my angels. My heart is full of love. I am sooo grateful!
