Besides the fact that she is super funny..? She's a very real person "down to earth" like everyone else said.
She's open and honest about her opinions and who she is. Very few people are like that, especially people who are always in the spotlight.
She's also a bit crazy, not put her in a straight jacket type of crazy, but a whole lot of fun type of crazy. She just seems like someone who you could let your gaurd down with, just be yourself, and have alot of fun in the process.

Ellen is a riot! She also does not act like a "Star". Ellen seems like an average person who would live next door to you. Very down to earth. She has a good heart as well.

Probably her lack of pretense and hypocrisy, her ability to laugh at herself, and her ability to make people comfortable even when she's making fun of/with them. Ellen will make a fool of you but she will make a fool of herself right along with you, and give you something to laugh at too. If you don't believe me, try to catch the episode with the lady with 30-inch nails - Ellen brought out fake hands with pretend 30-inch nails and tried to show how hard it would be use the bathroom. Even the lady with the nails was crying she was laughing so hard.

I think it's because she's down to earth and easy to relate to. She's funny without trying to be. She doesn't go overboard. She's very interesting and she just seems like someone that could be your best friend, no matter who you are!
