With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

The end of WWII led to the cold war. The military cut down after the war. The US and the soviets were gathering intelligence on one another and steadily building a nuclear arsenal to protect against threats.

realism - bipolar stability theory
the only nations with really really powerful militaries were USA and USSR. No other country could threaten the security of either, so each was necessarily a menace to the other.

conflicting legitimacies
legitimacy of the American government was based on consent of the governed (democracy) and liberal capitalism as a fair system of opportunity. legitimacy of the Soviet government was based on Marxian historical imperatives to communism and opposition to imperialist class conflicts. These ideologies were mutually exclusive, so the existence of each state was a challenge to the legitimacy of the other state.

The disagreements between the U.S and the USSR after WWII. At the Yalta Conference, they disagreed on the future of Europe and Germany. Plus, they had differences in which poitical ideology was best, either Communism or Capitalism. They also had espionage acts and space and nuclear arms race between them.
