it's preferable to wear less make up while still covering acne. You can use bare minerals, and it works wonders, you look natural without all the lines of foundation and it's not like a caked on look.

You may want to invest in some green cover for the actual pimples them self. Green neutralized red. So spot treat with green then apply a thin foundation.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

Most importantly you need to address the source of the problem. Wash with a deep cleanser and follow with a toner that has salicylic acid. Use a moisturizer specifically suited for your skin type (most likely you have oily skin, does it feel greasy?). It is extremely important that you follow this routine twice a day, no matter how tired you are you need to wash your face before bed. Use a benzoyl peroxide cream directly on the blemishes at night only. This cream will bleach clothes if it gets on them, so choose your pj's carefully. If you feel more comfortable wearing foundation to cover acne, than do it. Just choose a quality foundation that is suited for you skin type. If it blends into your natural skin color, that's the right shade for you. If you follow this skin care routine, you will see a huge improvement. Hope that helps!

I dont wear much make up at all because I have very oily skin and make up only makes it worse - I will only wear a small bit of blush and thats all.

However, I do use a tinted blemish cream - apply it to the acne and rub in, so it covers it up like foundation but does not infect it, instead assisting you in getting rid of it whilst looking good!

makeup may actually clog your pores and make the acne worse, try this to rid yourself of the problem
raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar
to open the pores and loosen dirt and grease from your face turn off the heat from a pan of distilled water, add 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to a quart of the hot water. drape a towel over the pan and your head to steam clean your pores. take a cotton ball, dip in vinegar and pat over skin to remove loosened dirt. repeat 2 more times. then spray or dab on
chilled vinegar and equal part of distilled water to close your pores and tone your skin. do twice weekly, also can use the chilled vinegar water as a toner 2 times daily.
it is amazing ....
i also drink the vinegar, 1-2 tablespoons in water with honey in the morning..and i use the vinegar water as a toner 2 times daily..

raw unpasturized apple cider vinegar..
the following 2 testimonials can be seen at http://www.earthclinic.com/cures/acne.ht...
Angelina O, has found that applying ACV topically to her face several times a day (4 or more times) has cured her of a "very bad complexion". She reports that she applies it straight and that while it burns her skin a bit, it still works like a miracle!

Cheryl writes, "My daughter developed a case of moderate acne, and after trying a number of different things for over a year which helped very little or not at all, she started drinking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar three times a day and applying it topically once at night. She has been acne free for two months. It took about three weeks to clear up."

to drink, add to water and honey, or to apple juice.

you can get the vinegar at the health food store, or in some super markets.

Just make sure you wash your face really good or the acne will only get worse as you keep trying to cover it up.

Apparenty, make-up isn't exactly the best for acne.

But it depends on the person. Some girls don't really care too much if people see their zits, while others panic and load themselves with make-up.

If make-up is used, make sure the skin's washed well after wearing it.

Please, please, please, if you have acne, don't cover it up with 5 lbs of makeup; all that makeup won't help your situation anyway. I had a friend in high school who caked on her makeup and it made her look worse than if she had just not put any makeup on. If you are really self conscious about it just put on a little bit like concealer or something like that but please, I'm begging you, don't cake it on!
