I actually believe the level of violence would decrease. It is obvious the Virginia Tech shooter planned his attack via something he saw on TV. As a matter of fact, it was like a rented Korean movie he saw.

Sociologists have already proved that much of crime is copied from TV and movies. Maybe the young people would take up bingo or going to church. It worked that way when I was a boy.

Your question should be a little mor specific but there are several answers first one being if there wasn't t.v. I believe morals would be much greater than they are now as whole I also believe work ethic would be a lot greater and that obesity wouldn't be near the problem that is now if I were to answer the question as to say there was t.v. and we went without just b/c than it is easy to imagine all you would have to do is imagine being Ahmish if you are asking this question for some sort of school asignment I would do some research on Ahmish tradition also I would look at dates before the tv was around anoyher way to answer your question could be based on economy Americas economy soared large in part due to tv as it was a great source to advertise on a nation wide level instantly on the other hand though products would have a lot better quality than a lot of them do now based on the fact that advertisement would have to come from word of mouth from the consumer rather than marketing strategy without tv there would a great decrease in crime, higher family values, higher religous values, more creativity, education would improve, and things of that nature on the other hand though t.v if used correctly can be a great educational tool and its great to be able to watch your favorite team play but the fact that american audience is actually watching things like Real World, Cribs, American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, dating programs, Jerry Springer, and other idiotic television like this only shows that America is becoming very lazy and so spoiled that we actually waste time and money cosuming so much idiotic stuff that its pathetic take pimp my ride for instance that takes cars that arent even worth a $500 at best and they turn around and invest I'm guessing atleast $10,000 on paint jobs, rims, and interior and they dont even buy a new ingine or even do tune ups I mean you cant paint a turd all you want but its still a turd anyways I wish you would have been more specific in your question so I could have answered better but I hope this helps you

Everyone talks about the ill-effects of meth, drinking liqour,
doing cocaine, smoking, fornication, lying.
The most rampant epidemic in the last thiry years is
this country's addiction to television.

More people know about who got voted off "American Idol",
than how their congressionial representive voted on
a particular bill being discussed on the floor of the House
of Representatives. Imagination is going more into cyber
sphere. We are preparing ourselves for artificial situations
than real ones.

Can anyone remember when was the last time they got
excited buying a book, or discussing a situation of society
that was not brought up by Mary Hart on "Entertainment Tonight"? Any one really excited about the class of candidiates who are running to lead this country in 2008?
In the last twenty years we had less of genuine leadership, and more of well crafted and well dressed pitchmen. It is
about style and getting that close up. Substance is too inconvient and the networks want us dumbed and entertain.
They are terrified of us being sober and informed.

The American Society w/out T.V.

The Society be more focused on education for the future of America. More young men and women would go to college, and finish their college education.
Many of them, would not be so driven as much by sensual pleasures and entertainment but would be guided by self-understanding and wisdom. Many of Americas U.S. citisens would be more prone to picking up a good Non fiction book to learn from.
*And finally, it would help re-define how America Perceives Love.

not so much without tv's, but without the controlled media.people from europe and other countries dont realize how the television programs in america are manipulated by the media.we hear stories about imus, and rosie o donnell, while american soldiers die at the rate of ten a day in iraq, and for what?
they dont even report about children being shot dead in lebanon, they never show people being beaten and abused in
palestine,or black children being raped and starved in the sudan. they would rater gloss it over with stories about anna nichole, bashing the president,or how wonderful diversity is.

How do you imagine an human Society without T.V's ?

We have to find another media...like...Internet?

I think there would be less hypocrisy. The media would be less influential. Our children wouldn't grow up so hardened. but there also would not be as much communication, education or knowledge shared. We would be less intelligent. That is why we should demand better television from the networks. Something that builds, not destroys.

I think as a whole our society would be a lot healthier.
Mentally - not so much garbage filling our brains.
Physically - Everyone (especially children) would be playing alot more instead of sitting on their buts so much.

People might actually read books, talk to other people face to face and write letters. Oh no, we would have to get rid of the internet for that wouldn't we?

there would be no tv shows, no movies, music video, the news would be brought to people a bit slower, not even computer ('cause computers need monitors, monitors are almost like tvs)
we would use less energy, etc.
