There is a certain young man in my life, that claims real men do not bathe or shower every day. He says tha it is not in the males sexes nature to want to block or mask masculine scents. I need to know the answer to this question my nose is at stake here.

He is 100% serious and not French, I am just getting tired of fighting with him on smelling like a troll from up under a sewer.

I should have added that this is a child, and he is curious to see if I was right and guys bathe or shower everyday or he is right that they simply do not.

First thing I would like to thank all whom answered my question it was a real eye opener for my son to see that bathing in any form is a social need.

Tell him he has the wrong idea about "masculine scents". It doesn't refer to body odour (B.O.) , but to what a women picks up on a subliminal level. As soon as she can literally smell you, the magic is gone.
I am a manly-type-man. I wash daily only if I smell bad. I am lucky enough to have a naturally low body odour. If I wear under-arm deoderant I can last 2 days with no problem. 3 if I don't have to go to work and it's not hot. Overwashing is bad for the skin and the environment, but smelling bad overides that unless you live in a drought area. If I smell, even a little, I have a shower. Otherwise, every two days on average.

ha! that's bullshit. I wash every day, but I don't bathe, or shower. I've come up with a way to combine them both, saving time and money. first, I plug the drain, and then I shower. once I've soaped, I turn off the shower and rinse off in the shallow water using a cup. I then shampoo my hair and rinse it in the same way.
part of the reason I started doing this is to save my eyes.

Since I got hit by a car I have a hard time, but I try as often as I can to at least sponge bathe.

Before I got hit, sometimes I showered twice per day.

um... I shower sometimes twice a day, I rather feel fresh and clean (so fresh and so clean, clean...... I hate that, now I'll be singing that all night). I think some one has issues about being hit by a bar of soap and some water..... did he ever serve time in jail???

well, since there are other women answering your question, I'm going to join in too!

I only hit the water and soap whenever I can't stand the way I smell (sniff, sniff--yeah i smell fine). it's a good way of having a room and all the space all to yourself you know. haha wink!

i'm sorry if you won't get anymore response after mine. =p
