Get the suitcase(s) outta the attic, buy a few maps, dry snacks & candy bars, get all passports & travel documentation in order, visa application(s) too, if needed, wash all the clothes, pop into the bank to get sufficient funds for the trip, cancel the newspaper & milk delivery, if your mailbox is located outside the house, arrange to have the mail picked up by a friend or a neighbor, and the trash can too, book the pet(s) into a cattery or a kennel, get all live plants regularly watered by a neighbor, if you have a fish pond, like we did, get that same neighbor to feed the fish every single day, etc.
Gee, there's a million things to do when you stop & think about it, huh?
P.S. Where are you going, if you don't mind me asking?
