So, I have a friend that I have drawn very close to. I might even be able to call her a 'best friend'. But lately, she's been hanging out with another friend, and it's driving me mad. I can never talk to her about the problem I'm experiencing because I'm afraid of the outcome. I keep having thoughts that she might even think its a hilarious reason to get mad/jealous at. But, I am very jealous of the person she's hanging out with, I do have some idea on why I am jealous (because my close friend might draw closer to the other person, and just forget that I even exist) but I cant take this neglect, it hurts me really bad on the inside that she might forget what we built up. Any ideas? Tips?

Whether you have a crush or not, it still hurts to be left out, or "forgotten" in a sense. If you don't want to be friends with the other girl, or even if being friends with her won't help. You should try talking to her. I doubt she'll think it's dumb and laugh at you. Don't say you're jealous, just kinda bring up that you feel left out, and you're lonely, you want your best friend back, let her know you feel left out. I've been there.

I answered a similar question last nite, and I think the same could apply here: Why don't you try to get to know this other girl that your friend is hanging out with? Then all 3 of you could hang together and build a 3-way friendship, and no one feels left out or gets hurt. I had a few very close friends in high school and we all hung out together, seperately, didn't matter. It was a lot more fun than only having one person to hang with. Hope this helps :)

Even though you're feeling neglected you have to understand you may be best friends but you are not the only friend that she has. Or it can be that your feelings run deeper than the normal platonic relationship feelings and the best course of action would be to talk to her. Have you ever thought that HER feelings towards you are more intimate and she feels the same way you do?

You don't have to tell her that you are jealous. Just tell her that lately you haven't seen much of her, and that you miss her. Ask her about hanging out somewhere.

By the way--you sound like you may want to be more than friends. If that is the case, just ask her out.

Sounds like its more than just a close friend... Jealousy will always happen, learn to deal with it or get rid of the obstacle.

Honesty is the best policy even if the outcome is not the one you wanted.

Friendship and best friends need space. Tolerate your friend's decision and respect them, than you will have a friend for life.

You just need to find a new friend. I remember when this happened to me in school. Your old friend should come around when she see's your not brooding over her new friendships.

you need help or you need to be with this person when she is by herself and not with other people or you can be apart of the fun.
