America will always be a super power, if things change at all it will be other countries rising in status to be more of a player in the world. The theory is a one world order and that is one reason Europe went to the Euro to expedite this, but if shear numbers has anything to do with it China and India have all the people. The other side of the coin is the biblical view that could come to pass and there would be a new Babylon that comes to power and it will be run by the anti Christ and he will be the leader of the whole world. It's a interesting idea since you can see so many parallels in the book of revelations and todays events. It is certainly worth investigating. Good question.

I don't know whether there are sufficient grounds to despair. Yet. Oh, sure, nations rise and decline. Others take their place and then the cycle begins again. Of course, one could assume from the 'failures' in Afghanistan and Iraq-or even of the Iran policy-that America is in a state of decline. But that would be to underestimate the capacities for self-correction that the American system embodies. I think the Chinese are storing and bottling up a lot of discontent, with no visible outlet. This is not going to be easy to handle as when the explosion comes. America is better endowed (?) to manage both dissent and change. I think is a strong social capital base to build on. We will get through this phase!!

I don"t know what is being taught in history classes today, but even in defeat America still stands strong and I believe no other country on this earth has the military might to even dream of taking this country over. In writing the constitution our forefathers composed such a closed in document that not even our on Gov. can infrige on our personal freedoms.
This country is THE model for the rest of world. If this were
not true then why on earth do all peoples everywhere want to be here! Alan

To "take over" this country would definitely mean it's annihilation, and I don't see that happening anytime soon. No American, when it comes down to push and shove, is going down without swinging. Anyone who attempted a hostile takeover of this country would probably pay the most horrific price, and I would say without a doubt, that it would be too high a price to pay.

Yes, historically, great nations have fallen. Is the U.S. an exception? I'd like to think so, but only history can tell.

As a Christian, I would like to think that Christ would return way before the U.S. ever ceased to exist as a nation. But that is my personal beliefs.

In 2009, when I am declared King, all will change. We will sweep out the dregs from our fine country. Any country that looks at us sideways will cease to exist. The terrorist losers will be hunted to the ends and eliminated. There will be Hershey's with almonds at every nighttime snack table. The names clinton and gore will be permanently banished from the language. Last but not least, we are bringing back Kaboom cereal, to be doled out free to all of my loyal subjects, along with all the milk you can drink! Be well, friends, be well...
