is the thermostat installed in the right direction, if its upside down you will get this problem. if that is ok it could be the water pump.

If the radiator is not getting warm, then you have a blockage somewhere that is preventing the water flow..or you might have an airpocket in your cooling system..I need more information to tell you what is wrong..1-Are your cooling fans cycling? 2. Do you have any type of grinding noise coming from the water pump? 3. Do you have any coolant leaks? 4. Do you have any pressure building up on the top radiator hose? Please email me back with information..gotspeed7883@yahoo.com

id just bet you have an air pocket around th thermostat. look up a cooling system air bleed and proceed from there, make sure the engine is not too warm though.
