For me it's Mick Jagger's speech about being a knight in shining armour in the Stone's 'Emotional Rescue'... it is absurd, and really very silly, but still great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1oaZfL8pKg

What's yours?

Please Don't Bury Me
© John Prine

Album: Sweet Revenge

Woke up this morning
Put on my slippers
Walked in the kitchen and died
And oh what a feeling!
When my soul
Went thru the ceiling
And on up into heaven
I did ride
When I got there
They did say
John, it happened this way
You slipped upon the floor
And hit your head
And all the angels say
Just before you passed away
These were the very last words
That you said

Chorus:
Please don't bury me
Down in that cold cold ground
No, I'd druther have "em" cut me up
And pass me all around
Throw my brain
in a hurricane
And the blind can have my eyes
And the deaf can take both of my ears
If they don't mind the size
Give my stomach to Milwaukee
If they run out of beer
Put my socks in a cedar box
Just get "em" out of here
Venus de Milo can have my arms
Look out! I've got your nose
Sell my heart to the junkman
And give my love to Rose

Repat Chorus

Give my feet to the footloose
Careless, fancy free
Give my knees to the needy
Don't pull that stuff on me
Hand me down my walking cane
It's a sin to tell a lie
Send my mouth way down south
And kiss my *** goodbye

Repeat Chorus

Sorry - but this is the silliest most annoying song I have ever heard!! Blue by Eiffel 65.....

Yo listen up
Here's the story about a little guy that lives in a blue world
And all day and all night and everything he sees is just blue like him
indside and outside
blue his house with A blue little window and a blue corvette
and everything is blue for him and his-self
and everybody around cuz he ain't got nobody to listen.

I'm blue dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie
dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie
(repeat once)

I have a blue house with a blue window
blue is the color I bought that I wear
blue are the STREETS and ALL the trees are too
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue
blue are the people here that walk around
Blue like my corvette it's SITTING outside
Blue are the words I say and what I think
Blue are the feelings that live inside me.

I'm blue dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie
dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie
(repeat once)

indside and outside
blue his house with A blue little window and a blue corvette
and everything is blue for him and his-self
and everybody around cuz he ain't got nobody to listen

I'm blue dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie
dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie dabadee dabadie
(repeat once)

I'm with you 100% on Emotional Rescue. LOL!

They're Coming To Take Me Away (Ha-haaA!) by Napolean IV has me in stitches. Listen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TgNCoVmziQ

What really cracks me up is that the B-side was called "!Aaah-aH yawA eM ekaT oT gnimoC er'yehT". There were sequels to it: "I'm Happy They Took You Away, Ha-Haaa!", (which is sung from the deranged singer's dog point of view), and "They're Coming to Get me Again" (which sees the original singer slipping back into madness after being released from the insane asylum).

I find it impossible to keep a straight face while listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers' song Apache Rose Peacock. It's partly the way he says the lyrics, I think you have to hear it for it to really amuse you. I'll have to miss a few letters of the lyrics or I'lll be booted off for profanity!

"Oh good brother! Just when I thought I had seen it all!
My eyes popped out, my d!*k got hard
And I dropped my jaw..."

Then a couple of verses later:
"A little boy came along,
Name of Louis Armstrong.
Said "That girl who left me silly,
She liked the looks of me and my willy!" "

That last bit about Louis Armstrong never ceases to amuse me - it's just so daft.

Anything by Weird Al
Baby Got Back
Detatcable Penis
They Might Be Giants - (silly)
Eminem
and these lyrics from Hilltop Hoods always make me smile:

from 'Dunb Enough'
...People chant the chorus when they hear it, Yo it’s on,
You rise like a tsunami, when you feel it; it’s the bomb,
I’ll make origami of your lyrics,
Geez that’s good Suffa, what is it? IT'S A SWAN!

(The audience always yells that answer - it's so cool)
They have HEAPS of very clever and funny lyrics in lots of their songs!

A friend of mine did a parody song called "One Night in East Van" and the part that makes me laugh is "So we walked east on hasting's to Pigeon Park. Now, Pigeon Park at night is an interesting place, full of interesting people. Hey look! It's Courtney Love! No man, that's not Courtney Love..."

I guess it's a "you had to hear it" or at least a "you have to be Vancouver to get why walking east on Hastings at night and going to Pigeon Park is a sorta bad idea" thing but hell, it makes me laugh. :)

There was that Mike Oldfield line '4am in the morning' as if it could have been 4am in the afternoon.
And Grateful Dead 'Friend of the Devil': 'Didn't get to sleep last night till the morning came around' - a lot of Irish in the old West though!
And for obvious reasons the lyrics to "The shag".

Everybody knows that you love me, baby. Everybody
knows that you really do. Everybody knows that you've been faithful, give or take a night or two. Everybody knows you've been discreet but there were so many people you just had to meet without your clothes. And everybody knows.
-Leonard Cohen
