Uhh. It really depends on the size. I'm also going to assume you are getting an LCD monitor. You can get a nice 19 inch LCD widescreen monitor for $200-$250. Then add $50-$100 for each aditional 2 inches.
Overall, LCD monitors probably average around $250. There are deals for 17 inch monitors for maybe $150 if you can find them.

Depends on the technology and the size.
Small CRTs are probably less than $80 to several hundred for bigger ones.
I would recommend a flat panel - smaller brighter and much less power consumption.
from about $150 for a small one, up to $$$$$ for a really big display.

Mine cost $25.00 and I love it. I got it from a local computer
and electronics recycling company. In fact, my whole outfit
is from recycled parts and runs great. total cost: $125.00
There are a lot of people that think they MUST buy a new
computer every year, or every new program, or when their
hard drive gets full. NOT. Why junk perfectly good computer
systems? I don't get it.
