Contact or go to your local Health Department and apply for Medicaid for your baby and if its denied you have the right to appeal the case. Or ask to talk to a social worker. All you'll need to apply is 1. Date of birth for everyone in your household 2. Social Security numbers for everyone applying who has one or the date the Social Security number was applied for. 3. Alien Registration number for anyone who has one who is applying if they are not a U.S. citizen. 4. Health insurance information for everyone applying. 5. Information about all income received. 6. Amount of child support or spousal support being paid to someone else. 7. Amount of child care being paid.

Start looking around for a free clinic, or go to your county health department. Many base their fees on a sliding scale according to income. Evaluate your expenses, and see what you can cut out: daily coffee habit, cable tv, internet service, fast food, cell phone bill, etc. Babies are EXPENSIVE, and health insurance for a baby is a MUST. Healthy baby checkups are normally at 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months, then yearly. That's a lot of medical appointments, just for a healthy baby! Chances are there will be a lot more in between. If you choose to vaccinate your child that is quite expensive too.

Kids care is state health insurance that you pay a fee for . It is for families that make to much to qualify for medicaid but not enough for a HMO or other insurance. I'm not sure where you are from but most states have a program like it.

How can you not afford to put a baby on insurance? If you do not qualify for medicaid then you have to put him on your insurance or pay the expensive doctor bills. I wish I could help you more but there isn't anything else to pay for your child's doctor visits. Health insurance is expensive, but worth every penny in the long run. You can't wait till your child has a broken bone or is sick with fever to add them onto your insurance. Go ahead and add them soon!!

There's no waiting period and they even have a 30-day money back guarantee. You can also see if there are convenient providers near you.

Congratulations on your baby! Don't be too hard on yourself, 70% of the population are either under-insured or don't have it.

my onlyanswer is that I would sacrifice cable, or something that the family can leave without to make sure that I can afford insurance
