Believe it or not, it can happen...I've seen it...

We had a patient almost deliver in the ER, full term...had NO clue she was pregnant thought she was having a severe stomach ache/problem...ah, she was in labor...

Is your friend overweight? Sometimes really overweight women don't feel the baby move, as much....

My cousin went to the hospital for a stomach pain and came home with a baby. She had a thought she might be pregnant, but thought she might be only a few months along and was maybe having a miscarriage. She had always had irregular periods and didn't know when she had her last one. Her baby was a little on the small size, but fairly healthy for not having had any pre-natal care. He is 5 now and a very active little guy, but when he was a baby, he was the stillest baby I have ever seen. The doctors figured with my cousin being a little on the heavy side plus the baby's quiet nature and her irregular periods that it made sense that she was so far along and didn't know it. I was 38 and our children were 17, 15, and 12 when we found out I was pregnant. Our little surprise baby was conceived when I had been on birth control pills for 11 years. I had a some health problems, lost some weight, and had no pregnancy symptoms when I went in for my yearly physical. Needless to say, everyone was totally shocked (especially me!) to find I was already 17 weeks along and had no idea I was pregnant.

I read about a similar story in Parenting magazine when I was pregnant a little over a year ago. When the doctor told her that she was pregnant, the woman was worried because she hadn't had any prenatal care throughout the whole pregnancy (of course since she didn't know), but the baby turned out just fine. Wow. Still amazing every time I hear a story like that!

Her 4th child she did not know about til she was 36 weeks. The last two times the babies were realy sick the # 5 one died. My younger sister claims that she didnt know that she was pregnant when she was 16 but I know better. For one she was a tiny little thing and all of a sudden started packing on the pounds and avoiding the family.
I dont see how you could miss the fact that you are pregnant, especially when the baby starts to move. She must be a very naive person. Or was in DEEP denial!

This didn't happen to me (well sort of it happend to my mom) she thought she was pregnant but when she was 19 after she had my sister (my sister's 18yrs older then me) she had a miscarriage and was told she couldn't get pregnant. She went to the doctor thinking she was pregnant but they kept telling her it was impossible. She went for her annual company psychical and found out she was 6months preggers with me. She wasn't on drugs, had no almost no prenatal treatment (cause she didn't know), actually lost weight instead of gained (she was overweight to begin with), and I was born 9lbs and 1oz with no medical problems. My sister was born three months early (in 1970) premature and had breathing problems, I bet I was a relief. This was in 1988, I guess medical technology wasn't as great back then but still! I asked her "didn't you feel me moving?" She said I really didn't move that much at all. CRAZY!

I saw on an episode of trauma: life in the ER, a girl presented with abdominal pain, she almost delivered the baby in the waiting room. It can happen.

i graduated from high school with this girl who went to the hospital for cramps, and they told her she was in labor, and oh my god it looked as if she didn't gain any weight, plus she had a seven pound baby. not to mention she didn't take any type of vitamins during her whole pregnancy

Oh my gosh, that's insane! That would totally suck to miss the entire pregnancy! I've had friends who were pregnant and I didn't know until they had their babies because they were overweight. It can happen. Hope it doesn't happen to me!
