I just got a cold sore today and i was wondering if there is any speical tips or anything i can do to make it go away faster? cause prom is comeing up in 9 days and i dont want to have a big old cold sore. and i have abreva but is there any other tricks???

They usually just have to run their course, but Abreva is supposed to be really good. Keep using it. Don't worry, it'll be gone within 9 days anyway.

Cold sores will usually go away on their own within a few days. But if they are severe or cause you embarrassment or discomfort, cold sores can be treated. Treatment may include topical creams or ointments or sometimes antiviral medicines (such as acyclovir or famciclovir). Treatment may reduce the duration of the cold sores by only 1 to 2 days, but it can help soothe painful blisters or other uncomfortable symptoms.
Or you can try Zovirax, my doctor prescribed this to me and work very well. My cold sore was gone in two days...

Abreva. It costs about 16 dollars for a tiny tube, but it is so worth every penny. It will knock out your cold sore in only a few days.

There is a prescription med called Acyclovir- it's a pill. That works well. Also, a prescription creme called Zovirax.
Over the counter, use Abreva.

Search for an answer in the search bar of YahooAnswers. I was reading the same question a week ago or so, and it was recommended to get some sort of a pill that starts with an L from the pharmacy.

u have to wait and REST AS MUCH AS U CAN IT WILL GO FASTER AND RELAX good luck
