I think that if you like the name, that is what is important. I personally wouldn't choose it, but that is just my opinion. If you and your husband both like it, and you think your daughter will too, then go for it! And congratulations!

Garran doesnt sound like a girls name to me, and also its wayyyyy too close to Garrison.. sorry, i really wouldnt go with that if i were you... "g" girls names are kinda hard though... suggestions are...
Georgiana (you can call her Georgie for short)
Grace
Gwynn (Gwen, or however you want to spell it)
Gillian
Gina
Gabrielle or Gabriella (has lots of nicknames, Gabbie, Ellie, Ella, Brie)
Genevieve (Gen, like Jen, for short)
Georgina
Gretchen
Giselle
I absolutely love the name Elizabeth, and especially if its after a family member, thats really nice... i think its a great middle name and goes with just about anything... my personal favorites are Grace Elizabeth and Giselle Elizabeth (Giselle is a beautiful name, but not at all common, so you wouldnt have to worry about a million other little girls in her class named the same thing!)

Garran sounds like a man's name and is also sounds like a nickname for Garrison. There are not a ton of good girl names that start w a G - the kids dont have to "match" - my name starts w a J, my siblings are C & L and we all lived normal happy lives. Just find a nice name that suits her.

I think calling for Garrison and Garran at the playground might drive you a little tongue-tied. If you want a unisex G name, Greer Elizabeth sounds very polished.

Garran is definitely different but I like it. I love the G theme too BUT I don't care for Garrison and Garran together. They are just too similiar for my taste, but my taste doesn't really matter. :)
Maybe:
Garrison Reed and Grier Elizabeth
Garrison Reed and Gretchen Elizabeth
Garrison Reed and Gabriella Elizabeth
Garrison Reed and Gayla Elizabeth
Garrison Reed and Gwendolyn Elizabeth
Good Luck! SD

It's okay, but too much like Garrison I think. For a "G" name, I like Grace. You could name her Elizabeth Grace or Grace Elizabeth.

I personally do not like Garran I like Elizabeth and if you are trying to find a G name I like Gabriele Elizabeth better. However it is your little girl and you are the only one that has to like/approve of the name. However IF you would like some more ideas here is a website that has some Female G names http://www.weddingvendors.com/baby-names/letter/g/girl/

It is a cool name but it does sound very similar to Garrison, which is fine if you're ok with that! My favourite G names are Gretel, Griet (Scarlett Johanssens character in Girl with a Pearl Earring), Gwen, Gwyneth and Ginevra (shortened to Ginny).
