Crawling is not a developmental milestone that pediatricians look for.
Some kids crawl early. Some crawl late. Some never crawl at all. That's why it isn't a good benchmark.
Don't worry about it. 6 months isn't incredibly "advanced." Our younger daughter was mobile at about 6 months and walked at 9 months or so. And our older daughter didn't really crawl at all and didn't walk until she was 15 months. Neither my husband or I ever crawled; we both went from sitting and standing to walking at nine months or so. (And we were all early readers, and have normal eye-hand coordination, so...)
So don't sweat it.
Your little guy will get going when he's ready, and you will look back and laugh about those days when you worried about him and wished he'd start!
If he's using both sides of his body equally and you can see his large motor skills developing (head control, hand control, sitting, etc.), you don't have a thing to worry about.

My daughter didn't crawl until she was 8 months but then she was walking by 10 months. Her twin brother was crawling at 5 months. All babies are different. Most Dr's say as long as babies have some way of getting around by 8 months then it is fine. Many babies are crawling later due to the back to sleep rule. In fact some babies don't crawl at all they scoot then walk. GOOD LUCK and don't worry so much.

My son was crawling every where by six months but didn't walk until he was 13 months. Daughter never crawled and was walking by 10 months. Some babies never crawl, crawl early, or walk then crawl. As long as the dr says he is ok with his development this is normal.
He just might not like to lay on his tummy. You can stand him up and let him hold on to your fingers and build his leg muscles or you could put him in a walker.

All babies are different but there are "milestones" that measure when they do certain things. I'm sure there are some websites or books you could get with the correct information. Chances are that he's fine, especially if he's reaching the other milestones on time, such as language development or sitting up, etc. My first son was walking at 8 mos, but my next two didn't until they were a year old. However, if he doesn't do it before too much longer, maybe you could get a second opinion, just to ease your mind.

Children crawl at different ages... Some go straight to walking and crawl later (although this is not normal progression and really affects eye-hand coordination when the child is older). If he is not crawling by 10 months, then there may be some issues underlying that but otherwise just keep offering him lots of tummy time and encouraging crawling as you have been doing. That is, unless you have any other concerns. Then I would recommend getting a physical therapy evaluation (or occupational therapy) to rule out any developmental delay but they likely won't start him on therapy yet if not crawling is your only concern. Good luck!

My son is almost 9 months old and is not crawling. He rolls everywhere. I think all babies are different and will do it when they are good and ready. I call him my lazy rolly polly boy. There is nothing wrong with him. Just enjoy your baby! You will drive yourself crazy if you compare his mile stones to other kids. My son hated tummy time, too. Always flipped over to his back. A good exercise to do is to let your baby push his feet off of your hands while on his tummy. I try to do that with my guy but of course he just rolls away. lol

My son was much slower then my daughter. All babies will do things in their own time. I wouldn't worry about it yet. If there are other issues as well, then I'd just mention them to the doctor. Don't let the crying get to you. As soon as my son was able to crawl and move around on his own, he was much happier. Good luck!

don't worry! My Friend had a son that WALKED and used the toilet at 8 months!!!! It was too weird. Other baby is NOT advanced. all babies differ.....
examples: my son said his first word at 8 months
younger son said first word about 15 months
Niece didn't get her first tooth until she was almost 2
MY older cousin didnt say a word til he was 5!!!! he had cousin CLaire to talk for him!
If your baby is kicking his legs that is a good sign! Just wait and be patient... he will surprise you one day!

There's nothing wrong with your son all babies develope at different stages. My son didn't really start till 9 months. Keep on doing what you are doing by putting him on his belly and sooner or later he will get up on those knees then you'll be chasing him after he learns there quick. Your baby is fine.
