Im a college student at California State University-Sacramento that is taking a class on Sex Crimes. I need to poll people on the following question:

What do you think should happen to REPEAT Sex Offenders?

Please limit response to 1-3 sentences and I also need your AGE.

So I can group answers according to age. It doesnt really matter how old you are, I would like to get a range of ages.

I know the question is vague, but Im not allowed to go into detail. So please if you can give me honest answers it would really help.

Thanks for your help.

PS If interested in my results I would be more than happy to email you my findings and what we are doing with the information.

As a victim of years of sexual abuse by a family member who was also a police officer ,I was only one out of 6 victims the youngest being my two year old sister ,I strongly believe they deserve life in prison without the chance of parole.

Q: What do you think should happen to REPEAT Sex Offenders?

A: My age is 39. The first thing that comes to mind with the issue of REPEAT sex offender is that "Is there sufficient evidence that will conclude this person is an offender?" Second question I would ask, is "Legally, what options are there to provide punishment for thees offenders?" Third questions is "Are these options working because the word "REPEAT" sex offender shouldn't even be in our vocabulary.

I am a 19 year old boy from New York and I believe these are horrible crimes and terrible things to do to children. If the offenders are male, they are NO exception, and if offence is repeated, they should not only be locked back in jail, but suffer all abuse and be beaten half to death. If offenders are female, they probably did not mean to be mean and they should be ordered by law to seek therapy immediately.

Being the victim of such a crime, I think anyone that repeats the offense should be treated accordingly. Anyone that goes to prison and repeats the offense proves there's no rehabilitation for that particular individual. Chemical castration doesn't stop the mind from functioning. Death penalty for second offenses.

I think that monagamous relationships are more appropriate. I think it's healthier in a lot of ways emotionally and even in some aspects physically. Considering STDs, pregnancy etc. I don't think casual sex with more than one partner is a very wise thing to do but that's just my opinion.

Lock them away to protect the rest of the world. There is really no successful treatment, and the recidivism rate is high. Abuse is carried from generation to generation. Female, age 63.

Please email findings. I am curious.

Treatment has been unsuccessful for perpetrators of sex crimes. The main goal is to protect society from repeat offenders. Texas and Oklahoma make them identify themselves and register. In Texas they have to have signs in their yard identifying themselves.

Repeat sex offenders should get sentenced to death because I believe there is no cure for their "illness". Female, age 26.

F age 22

Treatment should be given at the first offense. I do however think that their fate should be determined by a case by case basis.

I would be interested in the results if you do not mind.

I feel that TREATMENT is the best option. problem is treatment is relatively expensive. The will keep repeating if not treated. Psychologists have good treatments. Incarceration does not solve the problem. I doubt if castration solves it either.
